When the two golf courses Quinta da Ria and Quinta de Cima were opened in 2002 – Clube de Golfe do Levante was established.

The members club originally only consisted of “Titleholders” of Quinta da Ria, but since the entry of Summer Ria as owners in 2021 we also welcome players who hold Annual subscriptions with Quinta da Ria.

The development of the golf complex as well as the creation of the golfclub were championed by Lisa and José Lisboa. It all started in 1980 when they bought the property Quinta da Ria. Their dream was to build a Golf course on this beautiful property. First, they had to buy 27 small plots from 23 landowners to reach the 65 hectares they needed. Together with investors they received permission for a 18 hole Golf Course and a small hotel.

Between 1987 to 1999 all licenses and planning plans were in place to start the project Ria and Cima.

From the very start, until her retirement at the end of 2023, Lisa Lisboa also managed our Members Office and was instrumental in creating the welcoming, friendly, and family atmosphere of our club.
