Henk’s String Competition

On Saturday our Club President, Henk, hosted his annual and ever popular String competition. The purpose of the event is twofold: to participate in a fun golfing format (not really like anything else!) and to raise funds to boost the Club’s Charity Account. This fund is spent locally and is used to assist many worthwhile projects. The entire entry fee of €15 per person plus other cash raised by donations is put together and Henk and Loes very generously double that amount. The sum raised this year €2517 making €5034, which is almost exactly the same as last year – so many thanks are due to all those that contributed. On a day with beautiful weather, ideal for golf, the scoring was excellent and the winners were Goran Hardelin with a net 57 and Jackie Rushgrove with a net 60. After the round the 52 participants were catered for splendidly on the terrace with tapas and refreshments – a great day was had by all and many thanks, once again, go to Henk and Loes. (By the way, Lisa tells us 1637metres of string were issued!).
Other Club Matters
Regarding other Club matters your Captains are currently looking at getting the Calendar for the rest of the year settled and then published on the website. The date for Captains’ Day is still being discussed but most other events are already settled and will be available to view shortly. Remember the entry sheets for all the competitions that the Club organises are put on the notice board every week and you can enter there or contact the Member’s office directly. The Club board now has a separate section for Ladies and all relevant information can be found there and in addition on the Club website (Member’s Area/Tournaments/Results/Ladies).
